Refill a prescription
Prescription refills should be sent through the patient portal. Please allow up to 3 business days for processing as these should be handled by your main pediatrician. If your prescription request is urgent (i.e. you need an inhaler for your wheezing child) please call.
How to request a refill through the portal:
Once in the patient portal, click on "Create a message". Choose your child's name and message reason "medication refill request". Then answer the questions and send.
Request a Referral
As your Pediatric Medical Home, we want to partner with you to make sure your child is getting the right care at the right time from the right provider. For most medical issues, our doctors have the training and expertise to evaluate and manage the issue in our office. Occasionally, we will refer your child to a specialist.
It is important that you schedule an appointment with us first so that we can evaluate your child and help coordinate any needed care with a specialist.
If we refer your child to a specialist for a medical concern addressed in a visit, follow these steps to make sure that your child gets the best care and you optimize your insurance coverage:
- Check with your insurance to determine which specialists accept your insurance
- Ask your insurance carrier if your plan requires that we contact them to obtain an insurance referral to send to the specialist
- Call the specialist to schedule your child's appointment
- If required, request a referral through the portal.

Reach the On-Call Physician After Hours
Our physicians take emergency calls from their home after hours.
Call the main office number 301-774-4100 and follow the prompts on our automated answering service to reach the doctor on call. Leave a message and the physician on-call will call you back. Please save routine questions (mild illness, appointments, prescription refills) for the morning.
If we do not return your call back within 15-20 minutes, please call again!
Log onto a Telemed Visit
If you scheduled a telemed appointment with our office, you will find a link to your visit in the patient portal.
How to start your telemed appointment:
For children under 15 years old: Once in the portal, you will see a section entitled "Upcoming Visits". Below this section you will see a rectangle with a picture of a camera. After you click on the rectangle, there is a link to your appointment. When it is time for your visit, clinic on the link, which will take you to your virtual waiting room.
For children over 15 years old: To protect our adolescent patients, parents can not see any upcoming appointment in their own portal. However, your child will be able to see his/her upcoming appointment in their own portal. In order for a parent to access the telemed visit from their own portal account, please click on the name of the physician below for whom you have a schedulde appointment.

We are happy to assist you during office hours for all appointment types. If you feel your child needs a same day appointment, please call our office when it opens at 8:30am.

Request a Physician complete a Form
Requests to have forms completed for school, camp or daycare should be sent through the patient portal. Please allow up to 3 business days for processing as these should be handled by your main pediatrician.
How to submit a request through the portal:
Once in the patient portal, click on "Create a message". Choose your child's name and message reason "Forms for Camp/School/Daycare". Answer the questions and then upload your form. We prefer you upload a pdf. Please ensure you upload all pages and have completed all your required portions.
Pay a Bill
You can pay your bill in the patient portal:
Once in the patient portal, under the section "Personal Balance", click on "Make a Payment".
